Know before you board
Go / no-go against your own limits, clouds, visibility and winds aloft up to 5,000 ft above exit — plus an alert the evening before a jumpable day.
Automatic jump tracking
Climb, exit, freefall, canopy and landing detected for you — even from 30,000 ft, with or without a barometer.
Fly it home
Arrow to pattern entry and target, a “can I make it?” reach check, hazard warnings and spoken callouts.
Live location link
Friends and ground crew follow your jump, walk or drive on a web link — no app needed. Stops by itself after landing.
Offline maps & tracks
OpenStreetMap and satellite maps, terrain, places, measuring, a compass dial and track recording with steps — download an area and it all works without signal.
Route planner
Pick a start and a destination for automatic routing on trails and roads, or draw your own. Elevation, climbs, steepness and walking time, a 3D view — and the maps along the route saved for offline use.
Logbook, badges & profile
Jumps fill themselves in. Earn badges, see every trajectory on your profile and, if you like, join the rankings.
Compare jumps
Overlay jumps side by side — fall rate, speed, canopy and glide — and replay a whole load together on the web.
Jumps in 3D
Replay any jump in 3D over real terrain right in the app, or send a link: a 3D replay with charts and canopy analysis, plus KML, GPX and CSV.

What's new
Version 0.8.1 October 2026
- Download the maps along a planned route for use without signal: street, satellite or night maps, hill shading and terrain, with how wide a strip and how much detail — and the size shown first
- Only the strip along the route is saved, so even long routes stay small
- A clear “Clear route” button in the route planner — Undo brings the route back
- Fixed: route planner notices (route cleared, terrain saved, routing problems) didn't appear on the map
Version 0.7.0 October 2026
- Your jumps in 3D in the app: the whole trajectory at its true height over real terrain and satellite maps, with a moving replay and a camera that follows you
- Route planner on the map: pick a start and destination for automatic routing on trails and roads, or draw your own points
- Every detail of a planned route: elevation profile coloured by steepness, climbs, gradients, trail types, surfaces and hiking difficulty
- Walking times (DIN 33466, Tobler or Naismith) with your pace, plus an arrival-before-dark check
- See the route in 3D on real terrain, with a fly-through — also offline once its terrain is saved
- Offline routing through the free BRouter app; analyse any saved route or recorded track
Questions
Is Sora free?
Yes. Sora is free, with no ads and no tracking. An account is only needed to share jumps, a live location or your profile.
How do I install it from this website?
Tap “Download for Android”, open the downloaded file and, when Android asks, allow your browser to install apps (“Install unknown apps”). To update later, download it again and install over the top — your logbook stays.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Jump tracking, the logbook, tracks, the compass and downloaded maps all work offline. Weather needs a connection now and then; shared jumps, live links and your profile sync when you are back online.
Can I use a planned route without signal?
Yes. In the route planner, tap “Download maps” to save the maps and terrain along the route — you choose the map styles, how wide a strip and how much detail, and see the size first. Routing itself works offline with the free BRouter app.
Is Sora an altimeter or an AAD?
No. Sora gives supplemental information only. Always use a proper altimeter, audible and AAD, and follow your training and your drop zone's rules.
How much battery does it use?
Tracking a jump from boarding to landing usually takes a few percent. Long track recordings use more, mostly for GPS; the screen can stay off.
Which phones are supported?
Android 7.0 or newer. A barometer makes heights smoother; without one Sora uses GPS together with a terrain map.
What happens to my data?
Your logbook, tracks and settings stay on your phone. Anything you share is your choice and can be deleted at any time — see the privacy policy.
