Everything a shared bill needs

A group for anything

Trips, flats, office lunches, a night out. Each group has its own currency, photo and members.

Three ways to split

Split equally, by exact amounts or by percentage. Every share is worked out to the paisa, and the shares always add up to the bill.

Invite by Gmail

Friends who aren’t on the app yet get a private link. Add them to expenses straight away; their share follows them when they join.

Who owes whom

See each person’s balance and the fewest payments needed to settle the group.

Settle up your way

Pay with UPI, a bank transfer or cash, then record it. The person you paid can confirm it.

Private by default

Only your group sees your expenses. Your UPI ID or bank details are only shown to people who owe you money.

How it works

  1. Continue with Google

Pick your currency, sign in with Google and choose a username. Add your UPI ID now or later.

  2. Create a group

Add friends by username, or invite them by Gmail with a link you share on WhatsApp or anywhere.

  3. Add expenses, settle up

Record who paid and how to split it. Balances update instantly; record payments when you settle up.

Questions

Is Expense Divider free?

Yes. There are no ads and no subscriptions. You sign in with your Google account; there is no separate password to remember.

Does the app send or receive money?

No. It keeps track of who paid and who owes whom. You pay each other however you like (UPI, bank transfer, cash) and record the payment in the app. A payment is never marked as done just because someone opened a payment link.

How do invitations work?

Enter a friend’s Gmail address and share the link by WhatsApp, Gmail or any app. The link works for 14 days and only for the Google account it was sent to. If you sign in with a different account, ask for a new invitation to that address.

How is a bill split when it doesn’t divide evenly?

Shares are always whole paise (or cents). When a bill doesn’t divide evenly, the leftover paise go first to the person who paid, then to the others in a fixed order. So ₹1,000 split three ways is ₹333.34, ₹333.33 and ₹333.33.

Who can see my payment details?

Only members of a group you share who currently owe you money, and only on the settle-up screen. Expense Divider never asks for banking passwords, UPI PINs or OTPs.

Which currencies are supported?

INR, USD, EUR, GBP, AED, AUD, CAD, SGD, SAR, NPR, BDT, LKR, JPY, KWD. Each group uses one currency.

How do I delete my account?

In the app under Profile → Settings, or on the account page on this website. You need to settle up in your groups first, because other members’ balances depend on yours.
