Sora privacy policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026 · Operator: MSK Developers, Sonipat, Haryana, India · mohitdeveloper@outlook.in
The short version
- Sora works without an account. Your logbook, tracks, places, gear and settings stay on your phone.
- Only if you sign in with Google and share a jump or a live location do we store data on our server — and only what you share.
- No ads, no analytics, no selling or sharing of your data. You can delete anything, any time.
What the app sends without an account
To show weather, maps, terrain, search results and routes, the app sends the relevant coordinates or search text to the services listed in the app under Settings → About & safety (for example Open-Meteo, OpenStreetMap-based map and search services, the BRouter and OSRM routing services when you plan a route, and AWS terrain tiles). These requests do not include your identity. Routes planned with the BRouter app installed on your phone are calculated on the phone.
If you sign in with Google
We receive from Google your account identifier, name, email address and profile picture, and keep them to run your account. We never see your Google password, and we don't access anything else in your Google account.
Jumps you share
When you share a jump we store the jump's track (positions, heights, speeds and times), its details (jump number, date, drop zone, altitudes, times), any notes you chose to include, the forecast winds saved with it, and the share image. You choose who can see each jump:
- Anyone with the link (default) — not listed or searchable; viewable by people you send the link to.
- Public on my profile — also listed on your profile page and may appear in search engines.
- Only me — visible only when you are signed in.
A shared track shows where you jumped and landed. Only share what you are comfortable making visible. Viewers' visits are counted (a number only); we don't record who viewed.
Profile photo, rankings and badges (optional)
Your profile and statistics live on your phone and work offline. If you are signed in:
- Profile photo — if you set one, the app uploads it (a 512-pixel square) so it shows on your public profile and in the rankings. Remove it any time in the app or on your account page.
- Rankings — off by default. If you turn on Show me in the rankings, the app sends only your total number of jumps; your name, photo and that number appear on mskdevelopers.com/sora/rankings. Your logbook itself is never uploaded. Turning it off removes you from the list.
- Badges — achievements are worked out on your phone. While Show my badges on my web profile is on (the default), the app sends only each badge's name and the date you earned it, so they appear on your profile.
Live location links (optional)
Live sharing is off until you switch on Share my live location for a jump or a recorded track. While it is on, the app sends your position every few seconds (with height, speed, flight phase and battery level) and anyone with the link can follow it at mskdevelopers.com/sora/live/…. These pages are not listed or indexed. Sharing stops when you stop it, when the recording stops, or 30 minutes after landing, and the positions are deleted from our server 24 hours after the last update.
Storage, security and retention
Data is stored on our hosting in a MySQL database over HTTPS. Sign-in sessions are stored only as one-way hashes. We keep your data until you delete it. Server error logs are kept for up to 12 months and contain no track data.
Deleting your data
- Delete a single shared jump in the app (Settings → Account & sharing) or at mskdevelopers.com/sora/account.
- Delete your whole account — including every shared jump, live link, badge, your profile photo and your ranking — in the same places. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
- Data on your phone is deleted with Settings → Data & backup → Delete all my data, or by uninstalling the app.
Children
Sora is intended for skydivers and is not directed at children under 13.
